Ava DuVernay and Autumn Riley

Ava DuVernay is a Californian born in Long Beach on 24 August 1972. When she was a young girl, DuVernay's aunt Denise inspired her love of the arts and her creative side. Her aunt worked the evening shift as a nurse to ensure she could continue her passion for art literature and theater during the day. She showed DuVernay the 1961 movie West Side Story and DuVernay discovered a love for it. DuVernay recognized that art is a powerful tool to promote the cause of activism. DuVernay was also taught by her mother, who had a social conscience and encouraged DuVernay to show her creativity through art. DuVernay had her summers spent in Lowndes County Alabama, where DuVernay's father was born, and educated. DuVernay's father remembered watching the historic Civil Rights protest over the Edmund Pettus Bridge, in close proximity to Selma Alabama. The summers she spent in Selma, Alabama was the inspiration she used to write a movie about the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. DuVernay received her high school diploma at Saint Joseph High School, Lakewood California in 1990. DuVernay was a student at University of California Los Angeles when she graduated, where she received qualifications in English as well as African American Studies. DuVernay began to produce for broadcast journalism while she was in the college. DuVernay was a journalist intern at CBS News at the time of O.J. Simpson trial. DuVernay remembers being asked investigate the waste at the home by a member jury. In the aftermath of being dissatisfied in journalistic work by the assignments she was given, DuVernay was inspired to start a new career in publicity. DuVernay was hired for her first gig as a publicist at the small studio that she worked in after her graduation. She started The DuVernay Agency, her agency for public relations, in the year 1999. Her agency launched a number different lifestyle and promotional networks such as Urban Beauty Collective and Urban Eye. Autumn Riley.............................Autumn Riley was born in Los Angeles United States. Autumn Riley is born with the birth symbol. She is an actress well-known for her roles in American Experience (1987) and A More Perfect Union (2009). Autumn was seen as Rose as well as Anna Payne from A More Perfect Union.
